This tropical-inspired mango smoothie recipe is the perfect thirst quencher for this summer. All you need is a handful of ingredients, frozen and then blended. You will get a creamy and delicious plant-based breakfast smoothie or snack!
I love mangoes, especially in summer when they are in season. I usually order a big box. I like to eat them fresh and freeze the rest, as they are great in smoothies.
Ingredients:
- Mangoes: you can use fresh ones; either freeze them overnight or use ready-frozen mangoes!
- Pineapple: You can use fresh pineapple, peel it, cut it into cubes, freeze it overnight, or use ready-frozen pineapple pieces.
- Frozen bananas: I always have frozen bananas in my freezer for smoothies and nice cream. Frozen bananas make the smoothie more into an ” ice cream texture,” so it is highly recommended that frozen bananas be used rather than fresh bananas.
- Orange juice: for this recipe, I have juiced the orange and frozen the juice into ice cubes, but you can use fresh orange juice instead.
- Passion fruit: optional but highly recommended for a tropical-inspired mango smoothie
- Coconut yogurt: highly recommended to use it for a more creamy mango smoothie.
How to make mango smoothie recipe:
- The first thing you need to do is prep your ingredients. My prepping starts the night before, washing, peeling, and freezing the mangoes and pineapple, slicing the bananas, and freezing them. I then juice one orange and freeze the juice into ice cubes.
- To make the mango smoothie, add all of the frozen fruits plus coconut yogurt and 1 passion fruit to a Vitamix or any high-speed blender and blend them well. If the mixture is too thick, add a splash of water or fresh orange juice to help the blender start.
- Pour the smoothie into a glass cup and add the remaining passion fruit, mix, and enjoy!

FAQ
You can make this mango smoothie recipe in a regular blender; add more liquid, like orange juice, water, or plant-based milk. Also, use fresh fruits instead of frozen ones to help the blender start blending all ingredients well.
Like any smoothie recipe, this one is flexible, and you can skip or add things! You can add peaches to the recipe or replace passion fruit with peaches, which work well with mangos. Add more greens like spinach or kale. To add protein to the smoothie, add a scoop of vanilla protein powder!
You can make it without coconut yogurt! Either remove it entirely or substitute it with any other yogurt. Also, you use coconut milk instead. Adding coconut yogurt will result in a ” creamier smoothie,” but the smoothie still tastes great without it.
