- Hibiscus: dried hibiscus flower, “Karkade,” the Arabic name for hibiscus.
- Cinnamon stick
- Lemon: A touch of citrus will transform this iced tea to the next level.
- Ginger: Fresh ginger slice is added for a boost in flavor and health benefit
- Maple syrup, or any sweetener of choice, can be used.
- Rose water is optional, but highly recommended to add it; it will further enhance the flavor of this delicious hibiscus iced tea
- Water to prepare the tea concentrate
- Sparkling water
- Ice cubes
How to make Hibiscus Iced Tea:
- Add hibiscus dried flowers to a French press or any glass jar.
- Next, add cinnamon stick, rose water, maple syrup, lemon slices, and ginger slices.
- Pour the water and place the French press cover or the jar lid.
- Let it steep in water for 3 to 4 hours. This will be the tea concentrate.
- Strain the tea into a glass. Fill about 1/4 of the glass, then add sparkling water to fill the rest of the glass.
- Add ice cubes, and the iced tea is ready to be served.
Storing leftovers:
The hibiscus tea concentrate can last up to 4-5 days in the refrigerator. Dilute it with sparkling water, add ice cubes, and it’s ready.

- 2 cups water
- 500 ml sparkling water
